Prinkle Chicken Surrey: Crunchy Korean Fried Chicken
If you’ve ever wondered what gritty authenticity looks like in Surrey’s fried chicken scene, Prinkle Chicken at Evergreen Mall delivers, just not necessarily in the way you’d hope.
First Impressions: A Surrey Fried Chicken Spot with Character
First impressions? A rat trap greets you at the door like a security guard from a dystopian future. Step inside and the aroma is less “crispy Korean fried chicken” and more “mystery garbage day.” Not a great start.

The dining area has eight tiny tables, each smaller than your average ‘90s school desk, paired with IKEA stools that scream “temporary seating situation.” There’s one employee running the entire operation, heroically juggling dine-in, takeout, and Uber Eats orders. (The app notification sound goes off like a slot machine jackpot every few minutes. Apparently the locals prefer their Prinkle delivered.)
Menu Highlights: Korean Fried Chicken Options in Surrey
The menu is straightforward enough until you realize they don’t mention bone-in chicken is an option until after you order boneless. When I asked if they had rice, the staff member showed me a sealed microwavable bowl that looked straight out of a 7-Eleven in Seoul. Authentic? Maybe. Depressing? Definitely.

Atmosphere and Ambience: Not Your Average Surrey Restaurant
Ambience check: no music, dim lighting, and pots of oil lounging in the hallway like they’re waiting for a bus. A “Review us on Google and get a free pop” sign adds a touch of desperation, and the sticky floor keeps you literally grounded in the experience.

The Food: Crunchy, Juicy, and a Little Bit Chaotic
When the food finally arrived, it came in an adorable, weighty takeout box. The chicken was crunchy and juicy but with a hint of rubbery bounce, like it’s auditioning for a role in Squid Game: The Leftovers.

The Yangyeom (spicy) sauce wasn’t actually spicy. When I asked, the friendly lone employee explained it’s made mild “so everyone can enjoy it.” He did offer some Buldak sauce, which brought the heat and my faith back.
The cheese chicken was salty with a surprising lemony tang; unexpected but not unpleasant. Sadly, no Padak Padak that day since they were out of green onion.

And water? Forget it. When I asked, I was politely directed to the beverage fridge. Tap water apparently didn’t make the menu.
Final Thoughts: Should You Try Prinkle Chicken in Surrey?
There’s something almost charming about Prinkle Chicken’s chaos. The food itself has potential, but the dine-in experience feels like eating in someone’s garage after a deep fryer explosion.
If you’re craving solid Korean fried chicken without the sticky-floor ambiance, go for delivery. The chicken deserves better than its surroundings, and so do you.
